Soya Chanay ki Daal aur Aalu

IngredientsSoya Chanay ki Daal aur Aalu Shireen Anwar Recipe

  • 250 gm Gram lentil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 ½ tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 bunch Soya, chopped
  • 3 Potatoes, cut into small cubes.
  • 1 Onion, sliced

Cooking Method

  1. Boil gram lentil with salt, chili powder and turmeric.
  2. When gram lentil half done add potato cubes.
  3. Cover the lid and cook until potatoes become tender.
  4. Add already chopped soya and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. For Tarka: Now in a pan heat ½ cup oil and fry onion until they turn light golden.
  6. Add fried onion tarka at the top of daal and serve with paratha.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup White lentil
  2. 3 Onion chopped
  3. 3 Black cardamom
  4. 3 Cloves
  5. 4 Green chilies sliced
  6. 6 Whole red chilies
  7. 6 Whole black pepper
  8. 1 piece Cinnamon
  9. ½ bunch Mint leaves chopped
  10. ½ bunch Oil
  11. ½ cup Fresh milk
  12. 1 tsp Turmeric
  13. 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  14. 1 tbsp Dry ginger powder
  15. 2 tbsp Butter
  16. 2 tbsp Ginger chopped
  17. Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. First of all, take 1 cup of white lentil, wash in clean water for 3 to 4 times and then soak in lukewarm water for few minutes. This step is very necessary because without soaking, it will not be done properly.
  2. Now, take a pan, heat up ½ cup oil & 2 tbsp butter in it, add 3 chopped onions and fry till onions turn to golden brown.
  3. Take out ½ quantities of fried onions and keep aside.
  4. Now, add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp turmeric, 6 whole black pepper, 3 cloves, 1 piece of cinnamon, 3 green cardamom and 6 whole red chilies in the pan.
  5. Fry for few minutes and add soaked lentils with 1 tbsp dry ginger powder and ry well.
  6. Add 1 or 2 cups of warm water with salt to taste.
  7. Cover the lid and cook till water dries on a medium flame.
  8. Then, add 1 tbsp chopped ginger, few mint leaves, 2 sliced green chilies and ½
  9. cup milk.
  10. Cook on light flame till lentil is done.
  11. Finally, add 1 tbsp sliced ginger,
  12. remaining mint leaves, remaining brown onion and 2 sliced green chilies.
Notes
  1. Enjoy brilliant flavor of Karay Masalay wali Mash ki Daal with chapatti. You will definitely forget the taste of mash daal cook in hotels. It can be ready in very short time and can be a good addition to party’s food.

  • 250 gm Whole Black lentils
  • ½ cup Tamarind pulp
  • 2 tablespoon Sanbhar Masala
  • 2 tablespoon Jaggery
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed black pepper
  •  1 teaspoon Crushed red pepper
  • ¼ cup Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon heaped Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • Coriander leaves, as required
  • 2-3 Green Chilies

Masoor Daal Nayyab: Cooking Directions

  1. First of all, take ½ cup tamarind pulp, add 2 tablespoon sanbhar Masala and 2 tablespoon jaggery in it and mix them well form a thick mixture.
  2. Then, take ingredients e.g. 1 teaspoon crushed black pepper, I teaspoon crushed red pepper, 1 tablespoon sesame seeds and ½ teaspoon heaped fenugreek seeds to dry roast (roast without oil) in a pan and grind them finely.
  3. On the other side, take a pot and cook the daal masoor with 2 cups of water till it be tender.
  4. Take a pan, hot up oil, add mustard seeds in it, cook for 2 to 3 minutes, then add prepared mixture of tamarind pulp with salt and finally add daal masoor. Cook them for more 10 minutes till daal starts to leave oil.
  5. For garnishing, sprinkle some fresh coriander and green chilies on daal.
